The Langkloof

A great circular route from Driehoek farm, leaving up and out Welbedacht kloof before heading around the magical Tafelberg and back via Gabriels Pass. 25km in total and very manageable over two days. In fact, it is the perfect weekend trip with Friday night being spent at Driehoek and Saturday out in the mountains, before heading home on Sunday afternoon.

The accommodation is a rustic home stay and allows hikers to relax and recover after a long days walk from Driehoek. The community will provide clean and comfortable accommodation, warm showers and freshly cooked dinner for the hiking group.

Overnighting with this community is a special way to learn the intimate and enchanting history of the Cederberg mountains, directly from some of the local residents. Tourism is one of the few means of income for these families and supporting their homestay setup is a great way to give back to these communities.

Alternatively, the Langkloof village is accessible via a dirt road on the Northern side of Tafelberg. This makes it a great option to overnight when passing by on bicycle or even motorcycle trips and looking for a comfortable place to spend a night.
